Read this week's message from Father Don
Dear parishioners,
I believe God wants to do great things at All Saints Parish. Do you believe that?
God sends the Holy Spirit to transform individuals and faith communities, but this transformation requires our cooperation. One of the chronic challenges we face at All Saints is a shortage of parishioners willing to commit time and energy to their own spiritual growth and the renewal of the parish. The Holy Spirit is working but, often, we are not doing our part.
The contemporary lifestyle is very busy. Both adults and children have activities from morning to night, seven days a week. Among all the busyness prayer, spiritual growth, and the service of others are easily neglected. Let’s be honest: no one has time for such things when their whole week is filled with work, school activities, entertainment, sports, shopping etc.
In the end, it is a question of priorities. If spiritual growth is a priority for us, we will spend time in prayer. If parish renewal is one of our priorities, we will spend time working on the renewal of the parish. When it comes to identifying our personal priorities, “actions speak louder than words.”
God sent his son to heal our damaged world and show us how to love deeply. Jesus the saviour longs to lift us out of our old selves and make us new.
Please pray that the members of our parish will want to be renewed and will strive to make our parish a dynamic community of Christian faith.
Love
Father Don
