Dear Friends,
Christmas is a wonderful time for family celebrations and spiritual growth.
To help you prepare for Christmas, the parish is offering five Advent evening masses December 15 - 19 at 7 p.m. At each mass there will be music and homilies based on the mysteries of the Rosary. After mass there will be confessions and a reception in the Parish Hall. The masses are part of the pre-Christmas novena which the Filipinos call Simbang Gabi.
Many Catholics who don’t attend mass regularly make a special effort to attend mass at Christmas. Why don’t you invite them to join you for Christmas mass. The parish has printed invitation cards that you can give to your Catholic or non-Catholic friends so they feel welcome during the masses of Christmas. Pick up one or more invitation cards and hand them to your friends.
Here are the times for Christmas masses at All Saints:
December 24: 5 pm and Midnight
December 25: 9 am and 11 am
The 5 pm Christmas Eve mass is particularly suitable for young children. Elderly parishioners or those with mobility issues should not attend the 5 pm mass as it is very crowded and seating is limited. Instead, they should come to mass on Christmas morning.
A final thought for 2025
God has made each one of us beautiful, and precious in his sight. Once this understanding is rooted in our hearts it provides us with great stability and confidence. Nothing can take it away. The ever-changing difficulties of life need not overwhelm us when our self-image is founded on the certainty of God’s loving.
The Christmas child is God’s love up close, our comfort and our peace.
