Living Waters
Up to $165,000 in project-based grants are available to Catholic ministries and partner organizations that accompany women facing adversity. The Archdiocese of Vancouver invites organizations to apply for the Living Waters Fund, which supports mission-aligned initiatives that help women find safety, stability, and healing. Faith and Science Scholarship
The Vancouver Chapter of the Society of Catholic Scientists is excited to announce the 2026 Faith and Science Essay Competition. Awards will be presented to two Catholic students enrolled in a science discipline at a post-secondary institution within the Archdiocese of Vancouver. The competition is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
The awards are as follows:
First Place: $1,000
Second Place: $500
Submissions will be evaluated based on content and quality of the applicant’s essay or video reflection, with GPA not considered in the assessment.
The application deadline is May 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Mass Wedding for Civilly Married Couples - Information Session
Are you civilly married, but not yet sacramentally married? Explore the wonderful opportunity to open your heart to God’s grace and receive the full blessing of the Church. This information session prepares you to participate in the Mass Wedding for Civilly Married couples in September, celebrated by Archbishop Smith. Religion Amid the Russo-Ukrainian War
Visiting Eastern religion, politics expert Dr. Pavlo Smytsnyuk looks at Russian Orthodox and Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church tensions and issues of nationalism, identity, and religious freedom. Health Ethics Seminar & Conference
Providence Health Care is hosting its Annual Health Ethics Seminar from April 20–23, followed by its Annual Conference on April 24, 2026.
The four-day seminar will take place at Hotel Willo in downtown Vancouver and offers an intensive, case-based learning experience for those interested in navigating ethical dilemmas in health care. Topics include informed consent, substitute decision-making, involuntary treatment, health ethics and the law, and ethical issues at the beginning and end of life.
The event concludes with a one-day conference on Friday, April 24, bringing together health-care professionals, academic partners, and community members for plenary speakers and discussion.
