Write your Member of Parliament Today! Visit HelpNotHarmCanada.ca
You’re invited to visit HelpNotHarmCanada.ca where you can e-mail your Member of Parliament (MP), asking for their support of Bill C-218 (The Right to Recover Act), which would amend the Criminal Code to prevent Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) from being provided when mental illness is the sole underlying condition. Without this change, MAiD will be available for those suffering from mental illness alone beginning in March 2027.Chances are you know someone struggling with mental illness — a family member, friend, or colleague. As Catholics and Canadians, we are called to offer care, hope, and protection — not death — to those who are suffering and most vulnerable. Visit HelpNotHarmCanada.ca today and ask your MP to support Bill C-218.
Mass Wedding for Civilly Married Couples - Information Session
Are you civilly married, but not yet sacramentally married? Explore the wonderful opportunity to open your heart to God’s grace and receive the full blessing of the Church. This information session prepares you to participate in the Mass Wedding for Civilly Married couples in September, celebrated by Archbishop Smith. Saturday, April 11, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Parish, Richmond. Learn more and register at beholdvancouver.org/events.
Catholic Youth Conference “Called, Chosen, Sent”
CYC welcomes high school youth in grades 8-12 and the adults who are journeying with them as their parish youth ministry leaders, teachers, and mentors. This full-day event will include a keynote speaker, smaller breakout sessions, time for prayer, praise & worship music, food, and opportunities for you to interact with other youth from around our Archdiocese. May 2, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm at Archbishop Carney Secondary School, Port Coquitlam. This event only accepts group registrations. Register by April 17 and receive free t-shirts. Volunteer opportunities available. Learn more at cyc.rcav.org.
Arise Youth Retreat
Youth entering Grade 9 /10 in September 2026 are invited to learn and grow in their faith through engaging activities (including outdoor recreation activities), presentations, games, skits, reflection, sharing and the opportunity to interact with each other in a faith-filled, safe environment. We will explore self-identity, how to build community connections, and how to make Jesus Christ the centre of our lives. June 29 through July 2 at Camp Jubilee, North Vancouver. Register by June 8 at beholdvancouver.org/events.
