This week, we have a message from Deacon Carlos
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My name is Carlos, and I am a permanent deacon of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, preparing in the seminary of Toronto to be ordained a priest for Vancouver. I will spend the summer at All Saints Parish serving as a deacon.
I was born in Lima, Peru and came to Canada to study a doctorate in Science at UBC. I went through a process of annulment of the marriage to the mother of my daughter, which was granted in 2008. I have been part of the Neocatechumenal Way for the last 25 years. In these years, the Triune God, through this Way, has helped me to deepen my faith. I discovered that God is present at all moments of my life, encouraging me to participate actively in the sacramental life and in structured and individual prayer to develop a greater intimacy with Him.
In the Church, I have discovered the love and mercy of God, and I feel called to serve Him. In 2021, I was ordained a permanent deacon for Vancouver, serving for masses in English, Spanish and French.
Before joining the seminary (January 2025), I was teaching at the university level. I like to play badminton, table tennis, soccer, and chess.
I give thanks to God, the vocations office, and Fr. Don for arranging for me to spend this summer at All Saints Parish. I look forward to meeting you, getting to know you, and serving you during this time. Please pray for me!

Hello Deacon Carlos, and welcome! I am looking forward to meeting you.
