In God's Image: Human Formation in Our Parishes

Saturday | September 21 | 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. | St. Matthew's Parish Centre in Surrey

In God’s Image is a study day for parish leaders who desire to learn what we mean by “human formation” and why it is important to foster in our own lives and in the lives of those we serve.

Sister John Mary Sullivan, Jody Garneau, Kevin Bredeman and Jane Waldock will give an overview of human formation, its benefits for parish ministry and hands-on experience with different methods of formation that help meet the many challenges of serving in today’s parish communities.

The study day will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. Matthew's Parish Centre in Surrey. The presentation will be preceded by Mass. Cost is $25 per registrant, with refreshments and light lunch provided.

Registration deadline: Monday, September 16. Learn more and register at beholdvancouver.org/events.

Spiritual Care Training Program

Thursdays | Oct 3 - Nov 21 | 1:30pm - 4:00pm | Online via Zoom | $30

Pope Francis has challenged everyone to think about their brothers and sisters in a new way as many are experiencing profound loneliness and isolation. The Archdiocese of Vancouver is offering the Spiritual Care Training Program as one way to answer this call.

The eight-week course teaches how to make yourself more available to seniors and others who can benefit from your genuine concern and presence in their lives. Some topics covered include aging, communication, boundaries and self-care.

The training is offered online via Zoom every Thursday, from October 3 to November 21, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost is $30. Learn more and register at beholdvancouver.org/events.
