July 5th's Pastor's Message

Dear friends,

Thank you for the wonderful celebration of my 40th ordination anniversary last weekend. It was beautiful to be able to share the occasion with all of you.

Priests have a very interesting life, serving the Church in a great variety of different roles, assignments and activities. In parishes, they celebrate masses, baptisms, funerals and weddings. They are involved with adult education, PREP, schools, personal counselling and social events. Outside of the parish, priests serve as chaplains in hospitals, prisons and high schools.  

The diversity of his tasks brings a priest into contact with many people. He has a privileged opportunity to share the lives of countless individuals and to develop friendships with people from every imaginable background. This is one of the great blessings of priestly life, a rich and diverse circle of friends. 

Priests work hard and care deeply for those entrusted to their care. They give their lives to the service of God and his people, receiving in return an abundant experience of life and love. 

I can think of no other life where I would have grown so much or been so content.  

Please pray that young men within our parish will seriously consider the uniquely rewarding vocation of the priesthood.
