Lecture by Dr. Cecil Chabot : Reconciling Christian and Indigenous Histories and Humanities
Sunday | November 22 | 10:00AM - 3:00PM | Seminary of Christ the King, Mission, BC
In the last few years, the question of how Indigenous and non-Indigenous in Canada can go forward together has been close to our hearts. In 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission stirred up public awareness of the wrongs done through the residential school system. Pope Francis called for an honest look at the past but also a hope-filled return to the fullness of truth that the Gospel brings. Dr. Cecil Chabot will share his study and reflection on how our mutual understandings of humanity and history can draw us closer together. Lasting healing and reconciliation need deep foundations to be laid. Free admission. For more info, call 604-826-8975.
